There was drama in Nyahururu, Laikipia County after several men reportedly collapsed after consuming a suspected poisoned alcohol.
According to a police statement, It was reported by members of the public that there were several people seen lying unconscious on the ground next to National oil petrol station area in Nyahururu town.
Police officers from Nyahururu station rushed to the scene and collected five men all unconscious.
They were rushed to Nyahururu County Referral hospital and after getting first aid, some were able to talk and confirmed of having consumed alcoholic drinks namely Santa, Smart and Kingston in a wines and spirit shop known as Pentagon owned by a person whose name has not been confirmed but only known as 'Karis'.
Immediately other four men were brought in similarly unconscious and while receiving treatment one of them only known by one name as Wanjau passed on.
Others are still receiving treatment at the same facility and in stable condition.
Investigations are going on to establish and arrest the owner of shop.
