One member of kwekwe whom I traveled to Kitui to cover his contraversial killing was famed for interrogating his victims while naked; a ruthless junior cop who was so powerful that he only took orders from the top most police boss. He was shot by unknown gunman in an allay, his colleague a member of the killer sqaud working in Kitui at the time was framed for his murder and arrested.
His killing came after the killing of a police driver who allegedly witnessed hundreds of killings.., he was shot dead at Sarit Center after his colleagues realized he had snitched on them.

When I spoke to him, he denied knowledge of the killing but something told me he knew exactly what transpired that day. When I spoke to next he was at Gigiri police station waiting to stand trial. I never saw or heard about him since.
I don’t know if the arrest of maina njenga has anything to do with an emerging self conscious grouping but I wonder how they managed to regroup this fast.
