The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned its citizens on a moderate to heavy rainfall in most parts of the country between today Saturday and Wednesday, January 19, courtesy of illustration

Most part of the country will experience heavy showers within the five-day duration. The rainfall may be accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms for the areas around the Lake basin such as; West Rift Highlands, Central and South Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, High lands of the East Rift Valley and Nairobi.

Areas of South Rift counties include; Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Migori Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia , Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Baringo, Uasin Gishu,West Pokot, , Kericho,Kakamega Bomet, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and Elgeyo-Marakwet.

North Eastern counties such as Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties), North-Western i.e Turkana and Samburu and the Coastal regions are the only places to remain sunny and dry.

During the forecast period, day time temperatures are expected to rise between 25ᵒC and 28ᵒC while night-time lows are likely to be between 13ᵒC and 16ᵒC.
