Shocking news from Kirinyaga is that 5 suspicious people arrived at Kiandain Village attempting to steal electric poles that were already mounted in ground. The 5 were impersonating KPLC officials and started disconnecting wires before uprooting the poles in the area.
At first the villagers thought they were KPLC employees but were shocked when they started loading the poles into one of their lorries. This is when they cornered them and demanded for their job identification documents which they didn't have.
This raised alarm among the villagers who then tried to corner the suspects. They managed to arrest 3 as two managed to escape. The residents then deflated the tyres of the suspects' vehicles and contacted Police officers who arrived at the scene and arrested the 3 and took them to Baricho Police Station.
However the villagers demanded that they first reconnect the electricity that they had just disconnected from the village.
