There is nothing painful more than a mother losing a child having labourered too much to bring her fruit of the womb up.
The mother to the slain rift valley institute of science and technology (RVIST) lecturer Irene Jepchumba broke down in court on Thursday while narrating the last moments with her daughter.
Jepchumba's body was retrieved from molo river in Rongai subcounty on July 6 2018 with the main suspect Godfrey kangogo facing murder Charges.
Kangogo was with Jepchumba during that fateful day and claims that she slipped and fell while he denies any involvement in her death.
However, postmoterm results whuvh were carried out revealed that she was strangled to dead.
The Egerton university lecturer said in a short testimony that her daughter was Killed weeks after securing a job of a lecturer at RVIST.
Before getting the slot, Toroitich said that her daughter used to accompany her to field assessments and she was always jovial.
Nevertheless, after getting the job, jepchumba requested that she goes to her new place of work to familiarize herself with the environment.
This according to the mother was a good think to do which she (the mother)Supported fully.
On the fateful day, she narrated that they all woke up and everyone went to their own businesses but they could not get in touch because of her busy schedule with research activities.
Only for the family to be informed of the death of their daughter. The family now wants those involved in Jepchumba's untimely death brought to book.
Cases of unexplained deaths have been on the rise with families oftentimes left pursuing justice which sometimes is elusive.
This is happening at a time when the family of Tob Cohen is still looking for justice following the death of Cohen whose body was found in a septic tank.
