Incidents of police officers commiting suicide and murder have raised concerns over the effectiveness of measures put in place by both the National Police Service and National Police Service Commission, to curb such incidents.
Munyasia was discovered dead at his Pap Onditi home in Nyakach Sub-County on Sunday morning, May 29.
Confirming the incident, Kisumu County Commissioner Josephine Ouko said that the police have not yet established the actual cause of death of the police boss.
Police have launched investigations to unravel the mystery behind the death of the senior police officer.
Cases of suicide, attacks by officers on their colleagues and family members have been rising in the recent past, raising concern about their mental health.
