A man from Murang'a County has been arrested and jailed for five years after confessing to church that he was a member of a criminal gang in the area.
According to Taifa Leo newspaper, on Tuesday, April 13, Abraham Nduba, 26, was arrested a month after evading a police trap. Nduba confessed to being a member of the Gaica group while repenting of his sins at the Anglican church in Maragua where he had gone to be saved.
He arrived at the church cheerful, and ready to receive Jesus Christ as the savior of his life unknowingly seated with plainclothes police officers. They gave him time to repent of all his sins and agree to live a new life like cotton. Shortly after the service, the church's pastor Peter Kariuki was informed by police to escort Ndiba to the Maragua Police Station to surrender. The pastor recounted how he got cold when the police pointed a gun at him and asked them to let him pray for his sheep where they agreed.
