17Suspected Robbers Including School-going Children Nabbed In Possession Of Crude Weapons In Turkana

Police officers have arrested 17 suspected thieves in Lodwar, Turkana.

According to reports from Turkana Central Subcounty Commander Lemmy Njiru, they received complains from the public over being Attacked by a group of criminal gangs in the area.

The public informed them of the whereabouts of the gangs and they stormed the Roja base along Moi gardens Grounds in Lodwar. As a result, they arrested eleven suspected robbers. Moreover, other six were arrested in a separate operation of fighting criminal activities.

Following the arrest, police officers recovered crude Weapons including scissors, pangas, rungus, steel bars and knives. Moreover, some of the stolen items were recovered.

Mr Lemmy Njiru revealed that among those arrested are minors and school going children. He advised parents to be careful with behaviors of their children to Avoid some of them being recruited in criminal gangs.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on Friday.
