Kenya Meteorological Department through the development of efficient telecommunication systems that allows the rapid collection and dissemination of information, have been able to give out this prior warning of the coming changes in weather patterns valid from 23rd to 27th October.

According to the information, several parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley are likely to continue receiving rainfall. Isolated storms are expected over some areas.
The rest of the country is expected to be generally sunny and dry though occasional showers are likely to occur over few areas in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County).
Occasional cloudiness is expected over some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County).
Strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, North-western and North-eastern Kenya.
DETAILED REGIONAL FORECAST FOR THE PERIOD
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley and the Central and South Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin Regions. Sunny intervals are expected in the morning throughout the forecast period. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over few places and nights likely to be partly cloudy.
The Coastal Region. Morning showers are likely to occur over few places the first and the forth day, sunny intervals the second and third day, showers over several places the last day of the forecast period. Afternoons are likely to be sunny and nights partly cloudy with chances of rains over few places during the second half.
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley Regions including Nairobi County. Morning are likely to be sunny, afternoon and evening showers are likely to occur over few places during the second half of the period.
The South Eastern Lowlands and the Northwest Regions. Sunny intervals are likely to prevail as nights remain partly cloudy.
The Northeast Regions. Sunny intervals expected during the first half of the forecast period and showers over few places during the second half of the period.
