Remember Lady Who Helped her 'Chokoraa' Classmate Only for him to Die? Govt' Recognises her Greatly

Wanja Mwaura is a household name in Kenya since she hit headlines when she helped her former classmate who had become a chokoraa in the streets of Nairobi.

Years after that ordeal, the government of president Uhuru Kenyatta has finally recognised her by giving her a special award on the eve of the Mashujaa Day Celebrations.

She has disclosed this through her Facebook page where she has thanked all Kenyans who have stood by her saying that it is through their efforts that she has managed to come to this level.

"Finally the government has recognized "my brother's keeper" impact on the society. I'm super proud of all of you. This is all your effort am just a representative. I'm humbled by your continued support."Wanja Mwaura.

Wanja Mwaura gas been of great impact in the society and in the recent days, she has been building a home of sone needy children in Thika where they were living in a dilapidated home.

She also has three kids that she has been assisting to pay school fees for with two of them schooling at Makuyu boys high school and their sister schooling at a Thika school.

She has also constructed a home for a lady who had sone mental health issues in Othaya and these are among the things that have made her get the special recognition from the government.
