An administration police officer based at Siaya committed suicide on Thursday, 2nd September 2021 by setting self ablaze. Confirming the incident the sub county commander narrated that, the fire started at block one that was housing three officer.
A team officer drawn from KPS and dci officer from Siaya rushed to the crime scene, it is then they established the one Senior sergent George Omondi Omwa in charge huduma center died as result of burning in one of the rooms.
Drawing from reliable sources, the house hold items of unknown value were destroyed completely by fire. According to eye witnesses, the police officer burned down his house at around 8:00 A.M. Neighbors indicated that the deceased seemed to be mentally disturbed.
Two lady officers narrated how they visited him yesterday trying to inquire what was disturbing him but he chased them away. One of the officers said that “ We saw him very disturbed and we tried to know what was wrong but we were chased away”.
