Mwingi MP Apologies to Kenyans About The Tragic Accident, Reveals when Bridge was to be Constructed

Families and friends of the 33 people who died in the tragic bus accident in River Enziu are still mourning the loss of their relatives as a requiem mass was held today at St Joseph's Seminary Church grounds in Mwingi.

Several people attended the mass including Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Hon Gideon Mulyungi seemed to be very sorry about the unfortunate incident.

According to Tuko News podcast, Hon Gideon Mulyungi apologised to Kenyans about the tragic accident as he revealed that the bridge was supposed to be constructed before Christmas.

"Once in a while, we lose someone in the river unknowingly. In 2019, we lost five people who were travelling in a Toyota Probox car.

In the company of other local leaders, we went to engage the national government to support us construct a modern bridge. Before this recent tragedy, we had planned with Infrastructure Principal Secretary Paul Mariga that before Christmas, we were going to launch the official construction of the bridge, but this happened and we are very sorry about it," the apologetic MP stated.

However, his apology might not be taken well by Kenyans because a simple bridge could not have taken that long to construct.
