Two cops nabbed linked with murder of Kisumu-based cop who was thrown down the stairs of bar

Two cops have been nabbed linked with the murder of a Kisumu-based cop, Moses Oyugi, who was thrown down the stairs of a bar in Ngong, Kajiado County on July 30, 2022.

The two identified as, Jackline Nduta (34), and Jessey Levi Luyali (22), who served as bouncers at the Grand Mirage Lounge where the murder incident occurred, are now in police detention pending their arraignment in court on Friday where they will face murder charges.

According to a police statement obtained by the press, the duo were nabbed after homicide sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who swang into action, positively identified the two using surveillance recordings of the incident.

The response of the homicide group followed claims of a cover-up by civilian cop together with the management of the entertainment joint.

In the CCTV recordings, Oyugi seems to have been accosted by unknown assailant in a white t-shirt when a struggle ensued that attracted the club’s attention.

After 10 minutes, a second video clip recorded the entrance of the entertainment joint with the officera throwing Oyugi down the stairs where he fell on his head first.

Then the man who has since been nabbed as the key suspect is also pushed.
