The family of Dr.James Gakara; a Nakuru based doctor who allegedly murdered his two children by administering insulin drug at their Milimani home in Nakuru has broken their silence over the matter. James' sister Mary Gakara confessed that her brother's tragic actions came out as a shock to the family since he was a loving father and family man.
"My brother has always been a humble man and a family man. We are greatly astonished by this event." Mary stated.
Doctor James who is now hospitalized at the Nakuru level 5 hospital has been receiving medication in the ICU for two days now after a failed suicide attempt on the same day. As earlier speculated, the doctor's sister has however dismissed claims that her brother was at loggerheads with the wife which might had sourced the homicide. Mary further confessed that her brother was jovial throughout the weekend not hinting anything amiss. In regard to this tragedy, Kenya Medical Practitioners And Dentists Union ( KMPDU) Secretary General Davji Atella has also broken his silence. The medic who suggests such an incident might had occured due to mental health problems; insisted that doctors require psychosocial support to keep their mental wellness in check.
Apparently, the two minors will be laid to rest on Friday as revealed by the family.
