Top Four Most Expensively Built Roads in Kenya

When it comes to infrastructure in Kenya, we have seen a boom in the kinds of roads that have been constructed in the last few years.

From the Thika Superhighway to the under construction Nairobi Expressway to the many Bypass sections that have been built, the country has really evolved.

These ambitious projects however, come at a cost to the tax payer as he is the one who foots the bills for such massive projects.

Let us look at the top four most expensively built roads in Kenya and how much they have cost the tax payer:

Thika Superhighway

The road links Kiambu County and Nairobi County and it is one of the most expensive roads in Kenya.

The road cost Kenyans a whopping 360 million United States Dollars which is equivalent to 32 billion Kenya Shillings at the time.
