A morning accident that occurred on the busy Nakuru-Nairobi Highway near Kinungi on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 left scores injured and deaths.
The accident involved a goods transporting Lorry and a 14 seater matatu. According to reports, the accident was caused by a road block that was put up on the road despite the poor visibility due to the morning mist.
According to eye witnesses who recorded the video, the Matatu had just overtaken them few minutes earlier and was moving in high speed.
Due to the morning mist, the Matatu driver did not see the roadblock in time and came crashing in it, hitting the police officer manning the block before overturning.
The officer allegedly died on the scene as seen on the video while his partner was recorded desperately asking for help to free those trapped in the overturned matatu. No official communication from the police has yet been done to confirm the number of fatalities if any.
