
The suspect who was arrested for malicious post on Facebook(source.facebook)
A makueni based teacher has been arrested by DCI sleuths.
The man identified as Jeremiah Mwavuganga was nabbed at Makutano market for allegedly spreading fake news about TSC director Nancy Macharia.
The man a teacher at Muusini primary school had posted on Facebook that the director had passed on.
According to DCI an extensive forensic analysis was done to identify the suspect.
"His pursuit and subsequent arrest followed an extensive forensic analysis to identify the suspect, a joint operation shouldered by DCI Emali and the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau detectives," said DCI.
Upon arrest the suspect was found with the phone which contains the account that was used to post the fake story.
The DCI warned kenyans against spreading malicious news against people stating that action will be taken against anyone found.
The suspect from Taita Taveta county is currently held at DCI headquarters while appropriate charges against him are being considered.
