Mystery lies behind the abduction of several people on the streets. After they were abducted, they were detained for weeks then released with no injuries and they won't speak of the abduction.
One incident that has left Kenyans puzzled is the disappearance and the reappearance of businessman Abdulhakim Salim Sagar and Somali scholar Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdiswamad.
The duo together with their families, friends and lawyers refused to give any details into their abduction even after appealing through the media of their release. This is after they were detained for a month.
Mr Sagar was abducted on August 18 by people suspected to be Anti-terror police unit officers. He was freed on September 19, given Kshs2000 as fare back to Mombasa after being dumped in a forest at Voi town. The family stated that they had taken him to hospital for checkups but so far they had not noticed any signs of toture or injuries on him.
Dr. Abdiswamad's wife also said that the husband who was abducted 11 days ago was freed on September 19 without any injuries.
The police have however distanced themselves from the involvement in matter creating more questions.
