The residents of Nyamira county were surprised after the sad news on the death of an education officer.Accordimg to the official communication from the education office, thel late Jackson Karisa met with the death as he underwent treatment at Agakhan hospital in Kisii town."He died from COVID-19.'Confirmed the hospital CEO Dr. Hakalkar Hamar.
Untill his death, Jackson Karisa was the director of education in Masaba North Subcounty.The county Commissioner for Nyamira,Mr Amos Mariba termed Karisa a very dedicated civil servant whose services will be missed in the country.photo:Amos Mariba.

The officer's death comes a year after Nyamira county Governor John Nyagarama died from the killer Corona virus disease.Acvordiny to the Minisry of Health,the disease can be cured but people are advised to vaccinate themselves against Other measures of preventing it include the :regular washing of hands,keeping social distance and wearing face masks at all times besides taking personal responsibility'.
