Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju is mourning the sudden death of his mother Mary Odiyo Tuju, who was aged 87-years old.
According to a condolence message from President Uhuru Kenyatta by the Presidential Service Communication Unit on Thursday morning, Mama Odiyo passed away last night as she was receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
While condoling with Tuju's family, President Kenyatta termed Mama Odiyo as a role model. who was a respected leader in her community.
He adds that Tuju's mother valued education, and was always keen in ensuring that most of her community members had access to education as she believed that was the foundation of a good life where one would become more productive.
The Head of State also termed Mama Mary as a strong matriarch who raised a blessed and successful family, praying that God would grant them solace and fortitude as they mourn their loves one.
"We will forever be grateful for the work she has done for our nation and for raising up a strong family which has contributed to the socio-economic transformation of our country,"" read part of Uhuru's message.
