A Party Brought To An Unprecedented End After Police Arrested 40 people In Bars Past 11pm

There has been a fracas in Maralaltown in Samburu county on Saturday night after 40 people were conered drinking passed 11pm in bars.

Confirming the incident is Samburu central police commander, Alex Rotich who said that the suspects were violating health ministry's COVID-19 regulations.

“Yesterday, we carried out a raid in Maralal Town at 11:30pm and some bars had not closed. People were still drinking alcohol and celebrating the president's decision to end the curfew," Rotich said.

The suspects were however released on a cash bails and free bonds and will be arraigned in Maralal Law courts on Monday to answer to charges of failing to observe ministry of health's covid-19 regulations.

The bar owners wi also be charged with an offence of operating beyond stipulated hours. The incident comes barely two days after The health cabinet Secretary clarified the operation hours for the bars and warned Kenyans against flauting the covid-19 regulations
