"Kulikua Na Giza Tupu Na Nduru Nyingi" One Mwingi Bus Survivor Narrates As He Reveals How He Escaped

The whole country was thrown into a deep mourning some 48 hours ago. This came in after a bus was swept away by a flooded river called Enzuu in Mwingi, Kitui county. According to reliable sources, this accident lead to death of 33 passengers who had boarded this bus. Majority of these people were the members of Saint Cecilia Catholic church in Kitui and they were going to witness a wedding ceremony involving one of the members before meeting their sudden deaths.

Now, today, one man who survived during this accident has come out to share the whole story on how things were inside the bus when the accident occured. As seen from a video, this young man who said he was one of the choir members said that at first, darkness covered the whole car as the water made their ways into the bus. As a result of this, the young man said that the innocent passengers starting wailing calling for help.

Concerning the way he escaped, he said that he decided to break one of the windows after seeing that the bus was sinking. He then took a step of climbing up the bus where he then jumped into shallow parts of the river where he was finally rescued. He then said that many passengers who had tied themselves with safety belts did not manage to jump out of the bus.

All Kenyans expecially the drivers are advised to avoid crossing the flooded rivers to avoid such preventable accidents.
