George Kinoti, the former director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, has been accused of leaking information after ceding control to the newly appointed executive director of the DCI.
When passing over the keys to Hamisi Masaa, who was chosen to replace his position after he resigned, George Kinoti is pictured leaving the DCI headquarters.
Hamisi Massa will take over as Director of Criminal Investigations for 14 days after George Kinoti steps down from his position.
This will open the door for a competitive application process for the position, claims a statement from the National Police Commission.
For a long time, the Anti-Narcotics Unit's (ANU) director was Hamisi Masaa.
The National Police Service states that interested candidates must submit their applications by October 6 in order to be considered for employment as new DCIs or as Kinoti's replacement. They must also possess a degree, 10 years of relevant experience, and evidence of their familiarity with criminal investigations.
