A huge crowd of mourning residents was gathered at Sergoit, Elgeyo Marakwet County as the body of Late Edwin Chiloba arrived at his father's home.
A video shared by the Nation, showed people gathered around the vehicle carrying the body as the pastor proceeded with prayers.
LGBTQ Activist Edwin Chiloba is expected to be buried on Tuesday 13th January 2023. His body was moved out of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary by his family to be accorded Kalenjin burial rites.
The burial ceremony are currently underway. A family member said to Nation that Chiloba will be buried on the same day his body arrives home because he was not married.
As quoted by Nation, Chiloba's cousin Ms Caustencia Tanui said,"We shall observe all our community burial traditions. Since he was still a bachelor, his body will be moved straight from the mortuary to funeral service ahead of his internment,”
Edwin Chiloba died of suffocation as shared by a government pathologist who conducted the postmortem.
