Panic has engulfed road users as a fuel tanker catches fire in the middle of the busy Thika superhighway bringing everything to a standstill.
This comes amidst incidents of vehicles, particularly those carrying fuel being involved in an accident resulting in casualties and also interference in road activities.
According to sources, the fuel tanker which is can be seen in one of the videos that have surfaced online, is up in flames as onlookers including drivers and passengers watch in dismay as no one is risking making a daring maneuver around the scene.
Many vehicles and passengers are also seen stranded waiting for rescue operations so that everything returns to normal as now the traffic jam is becoming too much.
Road users are particularly urged to exercise necessary caution and observe patience when approaching the scene due to the risk involved as people involved try to ensure everything returns to normal.
