Citizen Tv has aired a story about how police officers provide guns for thugs who terrorise the people of Nairobi. The reporter claims that she didn't think the process of hiring guns could be so easy. She was aided by a man who she didn't reveal for security purposes.
First of all she went and bought hand cuffs and police uniform. She even went ahead and requested for the new uniform because the older ones are no longer in use.Within a short period of time she had the uniform. The reporter who is Purity Mwambia went ahead and ordered for arms. She got some bullets from a certain police officer for a thousand Shillings each. After that she started seeking for a gun which she later got it at Ksh 50,000 through a KDF officer. The guy who aided her told her that you can get anything you want from bullets to guns and even bullet proof vests at a cost.
Purity went ahead and decided to ask for an Ak47 riffle. At her first attempt she was conned by the officer who they had the deal with.At her second attempt she managed to get the gun.She said that it costs between Ksh 90,000 and 200,000.From her investigations she claimed that the guns come from the Kenya Ethiopia border.
This is a very saddening story since those who should protect us are giving guns to thugs.Whats your opinion about this?
