The National Police Service (NPS) has broken the silence after a horrific accident happened on the Expressway at the Mlolongo exit on Monday evening.
NPS has revealed the accident between a matatu minibus and a private motor vehicle.
According to the NPS report, the matatu minibus rammed a stationary Prado from the rear and rolled severally.
At least 20 casualties have been reported.
"As a result of the accident, about twenty people are injured while the extensive damage has led to a blockage of the expressway," NPS said in part.
The Expressway users have been asked to remain calm as police clear the way.
"Motorists using the expressway are advised to exercise caution and remain calm as police officers continue to attend to the scene and clear the road for the resumption of free flow of traffic," NPS added.
This is the second accident to happen on the Expressway in less than two weeks. The first accident claimed one life, a young man who was laid to rest last week.
We wish a quick recovery to those who sustained injuries.
