Nairobi residents to experience a 2-day water supply disruption

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company would like to inform its esteemed customers that there will be partial shutdown of water supply starting tomorrow, Tuesday, from 6am to Wednesday 6pm in Nairobi County and its environs.

In a Monday statement seen by Citizen Digital, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) said the partial shutdown will pave way for works on the Ngethu water treatment plant.

Areas in City Centre, UoN main campus, Coca Cola Factory, JKIA, EPZ-Athi River and Mlolongo will be affected.

Areas along Mombasa road, Juja road, Jogoo road, Outer-ring, Kangundo road, Thika road, Limuru road, Naivasha road, Kikuyu road, James Gichuru, Langata road and Waiyaki way, Westlands, Kilimani, Lavington and Kileleshwa will also be affected.

The shutdown will facilitate interconnection of the new Kiambu-Embakasi pipeline to the Ngethu Gigiri transmission pipeline at the Kiambu Reservoir; in readiness to transfer water to Embakasi, Mihango, Utawala and Ruai areas once the Nothern Collector Water project is completed in June 2022.
