Deputy President's Security Officers Allegedly Beats A Journalist

Deputy President's Security detail is making headlines for the wrong reasons after beating a journalist. A muranga based journalist was roughed up by security officers during a rally in Kangari market.

However, Deputy President's spokesperson refute the allegations saying that the said Police are not from the Dp's camp as alleged by the local police officers.

Mugonyi said, "He was taking photos videos and he was asked to step aside by the security detail but the reporter rather decided to abuse them. This provoked the local police to arrest him".

Deputy President had attended a church service at an African Christian church and school at Kangari market. Nation media group journalist, Mwangi Muiruri, was roughed up while taking photos of the Deputy President.

While confirming the incident, Journalist said "I just asked the officer why he was interfering with my work as I was recording a videotape. Instead, he stashed out of the dairy society compound, roughed up before I was handcuffed".
