Following her failed effort to smuggle marijuana to her husband in jail, a woman is cooling her heels at the Gilgil police station.

Caroline Imenza, 30, showed up at the police station on Saturday at 6 a.m., asking to see her husband, Stephen Nyabuto, according to a DCI report made public on Sunday.

She asked the cops to provide her spouse a loaf of bread and a flask of hot tea, according to the report, which she was carrying.

Unwrapping the loaf of bread, a police officer on duty who had been alerted to the disturbance found five rolls of marijuana, five cigarettes, and a matchbox.

“…But the female officer who was on guard at the report office desk wasn’t persuaded by the woman’s demeanor,” the police report reads.

“She uncovered the loaf of bread and found a steep gorge that is characteristic of today’s loaves of bread, but towards the end she uncovered 5 rolls of bhang, five cigarettes and a matchbox,”

The woman was taken into custody right away, but not before a thorough frisking turned out an additional 80 rolls of marijuana concealed in her underwear.

Detectives said that her attempts to use Ksh. 2,000 to buy her freedom ran into a brick wall, adding to the charges she will be facing in court.
