Machakos County journalist Jennifer Wambua is thought to have been killed by selfish individuals due to her stand to fight corruption in Kenya.
The fearless woman was scheduled to table down evidence against former Government Advertising Agency boss Dennis Chebitwey , Member of Parliament Ayub Savula and former Permanent Secretary Sammy Itemere in a graft court case tomorrow. However, her body was discovered dead at Ngong hills after going missing for a couple of days. Was his death coincidental with being a state witness in graft case or was she eliminated by selfish wealthy people ?
People were devastated and uncomfortable with the dramatic turn of events. The move has been termed as silencing anti-corruption state witnesses through heinous ways.
Amnesty Kenya came to her defense and ridiculed Witness Protection Agency of Kenya for not being up to speed. They should have protected her fully from danger and ascertained her life. This might scare other patriots from standing as witnesses against powerful people.
Courage is a moral standard that people should always have in order to fight corruption.
