Three people have lost their lives at Vipingo area in Kilifi County after strong waves hit the coastal area. According to those who witnessed the incident, the three people were at the beach and that is when strong waves that were accompanied by wind washed them into the ocean.
Details say that the three people were carrying out their daily activities when the incident happened. The residents of this area have said that this coastal area has been experiencing very strong waves accompanied by winds.
According to Mohammed Osman, a driver of a lory which the three men were loading with goods at the coastal area when the accident occurred, says that very strong whirl wind blew from the ocean and pushed them into the water where very strong waves carried them further into the deep water of the Indian Ocean.
This incident has left families of the victims in tears as they explain that the search to retrieve the three bodies has not yet been launched. The families are now calling upon the teams responsible for saving lives in the ocean to quickly respond to the incident.
This comes as three other people have lost their lives in Lake Victoria at Nyagina area in Homa Bay County. The three died after their boat capsized. The boat was carrying five people but two were successful rescued but their other three colleagues died. According to witnesses, this accident was also caused by strong waves at the Lake Victoria. This incident occurs barely two weeks after other ten people died in the same county following a boat accident.
