Police officers from Nakuru Central police station in Nakuru County are once again in spot after harrasing MediaMax reporter during curfew hours. The Nakuru based Milele had just left just left his office before he met the rogue Police officer in civilian clothes around 8:30Pm at Nakuru CBD.
Mr Omurunga said that his attempt to identify himself through the Media Council of Kenya Card didn't bear any fruits as the officers started harrassing him before he was forced to board the police vehicle to Central Police Station.
However Following the uproar from the Kenya Union of Journalism Nakuru Chapter Secretary General Kioko Wa Kivandi, Omurunga was released naratting that he had lost tools of work worth Ksh 25000 in the night drama. He also sustained injuries on his limps besides his sweaters being torned into bad shape.
Cases of journalist being harrassed in Nakuru by security officers is not new. Last year on January Radio Citizen and Inooro Fm reporter Robert Maina was also become a victim when he was reporting students unrest at Egerton University.
