NPS Breaks Silence On Lifting Of Curfew, Gives A New Directive On Bars

The National Police Service has issued a directive on the closure of bars moments after the curfew was lifted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the Mashujaa Day Celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the dusk to dawn curfew in all counties in the Country. Uhuru's directive comes few days after there had been anticipations that the curfew will be lifted.

The positivity ratio in he last weeks have declined compared to other times in the year.

The National Police Service has responded to the curfew lifting and have stated that the directive on the closure of bars at 7pm still rains the same. NPS has affirmed that the enforcement of this will be done.

"Following the vacation of the COVID associated curfew by H.E the President during MASHUJAA Day speech, existing measures on closure of bars by 7.00pm remain in place for now. Enforcement of violation of this measure to continue", reads a statement from the National Police Service.
