Body of a School Girl Who Went Missing Found Dumped in a River in Nyeri

The body of a school girl who went missing was found dumped in a river in Nyeri County. The body was retrieved by Police Officers from Mukurweini Police station after weeks of searching for her.

The form one student at Ngamwa Secondary School went missing three weeks ago before her parents reporting her disappearance. They spent days and nights looking for her in vain only for her body to be found dumped in Rwarai River put in a sack.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the young girl might have been defiled by her abductors before she was killed. Her killers are suspected to have committed the heinous act on her elsewhere before carrying her body into the river. Residents said they saw the sack and became suspicious before informing the police.

Police have launched investigations into the incident as the girl's body was taken to Mukurwe-ini Morgue awaiting an autopsy to determine the actual cause of her death.
