The body of a 22-year-old fisherman who drowned in Lake Victoria has been retrieved.
The deceased, Wamalwa is reportedly said to have drowned in the lake on Tuesday while on their normal fishing expedition accompanied by his three friends.
Sources privy to the alleged incident revellers that they were out fishing when a strong wind swayed in the lake bringing strong and big waves that made their boat unstable and it overturned.
His colleagues said the deceased feared and he suddenly slipped from the boat and drowned into the water due to the instability their boat.
His friends said they waited for Wamalwa to appear on the water surface. But he drowned and was never seen again that day.
“His friends reported that Wamalwa drowned into the lake due to a strong that wind swayed on Tuesday,” Onditi said.
He appealed to the fishermen to be watchful while in the lake during strong winds to prevent such accidents in future.
