Prime Bank Nakuru Heist

Five robbers hit the Prime Bank Nakuru Branch and stole Sh2.3 million. The robbers raided the Prime Bank at the Westside Mall along Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru.Image

The police reported that on Wednesday evening, the robbers were armed with a homemade gun, a hammer, knives, and a panga. They forced their way in, held hostage nine employees, and at last made away with cash. When they entered the banking hall, they locked the members of staff in the toilets, they then ransacked and stole Sh2.3 million. A CCTV footage has shown that the guard on duty; a KK security guard, Tobias Juma, opened the main door of the bank for the robbers.

According to a filed report at the Nakuru Central Police Station, the robbers injured Meshack Tanui, a teller at the bank during the heist. He was taken to the Aga Khan Hospital treated and discharged. The DCI has since visited the crime scene for further investigations.
