Police in Migori County have launched investigations into the death of a 47-year-old woman who was shot dead in front of her gate by unknown people in Getong’anya area in Kuria West sub-County.
According to police reports, the woman had gone to the market on Friday evening and upon returning to her home at 7:30 pm, unknown people ambushed her outside her gate and shot her in the head.
Esther Rioba died on the spot following the attack. The assailants, however, did not steal anything from her.
According to the area police boss, they are currently investigating the matter with a hunt down for the rogue suspects under way.
Speaking to the media, the officer also revealed that the said lady had received life threats from people they did not name.
This worrying development comes amid an increase in the rate of Crime in the country.
A huge number of kenyans have lost their lives and belongings after some deadly encounters with these thugs.
