Four security officers acting on a tip-off, flushed the trio out of the bush and nabbed the them while in possession of zebra meat weighing approximately 280kgs.
According to the security officers, the criminals are part of armed poachers who have been operating the illegal business for more than 5 years.
Police also recovered two knives and a panga from the two suspects.
Garrisa County police commander who commented on the matter cautioned those involved in the illegal game meat business that they will not tolerate anyone.
He asked members of the public to report any suspicious information relating to the illegal business to the nearest police station to help them in arresting the poachers.
He added that the illegal practices is a threat to tourism and if not reduced would have a negative effect on the economy.
