
An Iraq national was shot in Lavington, Nairobi by robbers whose aim was to snatch his mobile phone.
Mazzin Hanna Matti was working for the International Organization for migration.
At the time of the shooting, he was walking back home in the evening after a long day at work.
3 people who were on a motorbike attacked him before shooting him on the knee.
He was rushed to Mary Imaculata hospital by a passerby but sadly died after a short while from excessive bleeding.
The 3 criminals were shot at by officer Bernard Serem, a General Serice Unit (GSU) officer guarding a British residence but all of them escaped unhurt.
The incident is said to have occured at around 4PM on Saturday.
Investigations are still going on with the aim of catching up with the culprits. Police have been urged to ensure security in the area.
