These 5 Common Foods That Could Kill You Quickly

Our bodies need the nutrients found in foods like chocolate and ice cream, but unfortunately, these treats often contain chemicals and compounds that are hazardous to our health. In extreme situations, exposure to some of these compounds can even be fatal. What follows is a list of 5 often eaten items that could swiftly become fatal;

1. Potatoes

Do not be alarmed; potatoes of a lighter brown color are perfectly fine to eat, but those of a greener hue contain solanine, a poisonous chemical. Your potato is not fully mature if it still has a greenish tint, and if there is a lot of solanine in it. Green potatoes can cause severe health problems if consumed. Some reports claim that they can cause paralysis if eaten.

It's important to note that not all mushrooms are the same, and that some are much better for human health than others. Some species of mushrooms carry poisons that could kill. So be choosy when it comes to preparing mushrooms.

In and of themselves, tomatoes are a superfood, but the leaves of the tomato plant are poisonous and can cause stomachaches and nervousness. It is safe to consume tomatoes but make sure you avoid their leaves.

4. Uncooked food, such as meat and eggs

Salmonella bacteria, found in raw meat and uncooked eggs, causes stomach bloating and, in severe cases, death.
