A first year student at Laikipia University lost her life today after being stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend.
The caretaker at the hostel narrated that the sudden fight between the two attracted a huge crowd and upon enquiring what was happening, other students at the private hostel revealed that a man entered the room and locked it immediately.
The crowd managed to break in. They found the female student lying lifeless on the bed. The boyfriend of the other hand stabbed himself on the neck and stomach when he saw that the angry crowd would attack him.
Police intervened and took the man to hospital in a critical state. His intestines were out.
Investigations into the alleged murder are ongoing.
Students at Laikipia University have eulogized the deceased as a silent person who loved peace. The sad case comes at a time when the country is facing many murder cases between lovers due to love gone sour.
May the young student rest in peace and may justice be served.
