The grandson to former president Daniel Toroitich Moi and nephew to KANU party leader Gideon Moi has been dragged to court after he abandoned his children after throwing them out of his home. The nephew to Gideon who was charged before principal magistrate Benjamin Limo in court sessions left the children in dire need after parting with his partner that sired 2 children with him.
According to Tuko.co.ke digital news platform, Collins Toroitich Moi is accused in court documents of being negligent after failing to take responsibility for the well-being of his own children. The mother, Gladys Jeruto also told the court that Collins Moi was cruel and irresponsible leading her to abandon her matrimonial home after enduring the worst while married to him.
The court through Collins Moi's ex wife's lawyer requested the magistrate to compel him to pay 1 million monthly as restitution to cater for the children's well-being. The lawyer also told the honorable court that the children have been left in poverty and were suffering as the mother had no extra income to cater for their needs. The money she argued would be used to cater for their school fees, uniforms, rent and food as they were left destitute. The judge is yet to make a ruling.
