The four officers of the disbanded special unit have been targeted by the government. On Wednesday, four more policemen from the disbanded units were detained by detectives from the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) to provide information.
The four officers are reportedly being held at Nairobi County's Capital Hill Police Station. On the first day of December 2022, Thursday, they will appear in court.
They are anticipated to respond to claims that they participated in extrajudicial executions committed during the previous government under the fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
To disprove their involvement in the charges, the four will take a DNA test. The accused individuals were ordered by the court to take a lab test at a government chemist.
However, due to a lack of resources at the Laboratory at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation headquarters, the exercise was not completed.
As more information will keep coming, please follow for more updates thanks.
