Several parts of Nairobi county are set to go without water for 24 hours starting from 6:00 am Thursday, April 14 to 6:00am on Friday April 15. The Nairobi city water and sewerage company said in a statement that the move will enable the interconnection of new and old water pipes.
" The exercise will be conducted on Uhuru Highway between Hailey Selassie Avenue and University Way junctions with Uhuru Highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway contractor," read the statement. Following this the whole City Centre, Ngara, Parklands, areas along Limuru Road, Agha Khan Hospital, UoN Parklands law campus and Mombasa road including South B and South C. Other areas are University of Nairobi Main Campus, Coca-cola Factory, JKIA, EPZ- Athi River and the whole of Industrial Area. Areas along Jogoo Road that will experience dry taps are City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and the surrounding estato. Residents of Nairobi are urged to use water sparingly ahead of the interruption of the supply.
