Drinking and driving are two scenarios that can easily lead to an accident especially if the driver is careless and reckless.
A drunk driver has been arrested for defying orders and assaulting a police officer in Karen, Nairobi. The suspect is reported to have been driving carelessly along Thika highway and hit the police motorcycle but did not stop.
The police then had to engage in a chase with the victim who was running away after the incidence.
According to the police, the suspect was arrested at Karen County Club where he parked the car off the road, alighted and accosted the police rider while assaulting him.
The driver is also reported to have shouted to be taken to the police station as other motorists tried to stop him from fighting the officer. He complained on the fact that the officer harassing him was not from within the area.
