
The National Police Service Commission has appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow as the new acting Inspector General replacing Hillary Mutyambai who is in a terminal leave.
Mr Mutyambai was allowed a leave to recuperate after he was hospitalised, and the commission has acted according to the president's order to find a new acting IG. Furthermore, the commission last week appointed a new DCI after George Kinoti’s resignation.
The NPSC is in charge of all police affairs in the country, whereby, it's duties including recruitment and discharging officers from the service and also, looking after their welfare.
According to the National Police Service Commission statement, Mr Noor Gabow, CBS will be acting as the new IG of police with immediate effect from 26th of August, and he will act on the position until the new IG is appointed by the President in accordance with article 245(2)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya.
