Different police units combined efforts on Saturday, 1 May 2021, to gun down dangerously armed bandits in a deadly shootout.
At least two bandits armed with AK-47 and several rounds of ammunition were today neutralized at Kamwenje in Laikipia County.
"Congratulations to Gsu ,Astu and RDu officers in laikipia Ops........this happened at kamwenje laikipia job killing, all bandits should be tracked down and...happy labour day all," the source, undercover cop posted on social media.
Bandits have emerged to be one of the greatest security threat in the country, besides the Somalia based Al-Shabaab.
Apart from stealing livestock and wreaking havoc in villages particularly in the Rift Valley counties, bandits have been gunning down police officers.
They recently gunned down a KDF soldier in a recent attack after they attacked their camp in Baringo County.
