Alice Kithome will always remember the day her brother's friend who also happens to be their neighbor introduced them to a group of men who offered her a Ksh.5 Million tender to supply maize.
Little did she know that all they wanted was for her to go through the entire purchasing process from Busia and trick her once the Maize reached Nairobi.
When the maize reached Nairobi, she stored it in Dandora warehouses but the two men managed to get their way through and take the maize at 6 am.
She was relieved when the police caught up with them through phone signals and thought that justice would be served.
However, the most painful part about the whole ordeal was the fact that they only spent a night in jail and she does not understand why the police set them free.
She got information that the men paid some amount of cash to be released. Lucy wonders whether she will ever get justice if the police who are supposed to protect citizens decided to release thugs who conned her.
She uses her story to caution people against conmen so that they don't go through the pain she went through.
