Over the recent years, cases of road accidents have been increasing at an alarming rate. Different reasons for the rise in accidents have been speculated including reckless driving, mechanical issues with vehicles and even corruption activities on Kenyan roads.According to reports, at least 60 people have died in road accidents since January 1st, 2022.
Today at around 3.40 pm, a grisly road accidents occurred along the Nairobi- Mombasa Highway around Gateway mall(Syokimau Railway Station). The mishap involved three trucks which were on transit. 
The driver of one of the trucks which was fully loaded with bags of cement allegedly lost control after the brakes system failed, forcing him to hit two trucks which were heading to Mombasa.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, except for the few who recorded various types of injuries.
Police in Nairobi have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of that scary scene which was observed along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
